Background
Crowd Responder is an independent organisation delivering bespoke solutions in business continuity, risk management, sustainable development and climate change adaptation.

In recent years, the global concern with risk reduction has focused on technical measures, such as improved management. This approach is limited because it ignores local innovations, especially those that are self-sustaining and easily transferable. Crowd Responder's solution is to work closely with local communities and deliver long-term benefits. Our core membership is mainly comprised of professionals in healthcare, engineering and community development. Our peripheral membership extends deep into local communities around the world.

Studies have found that Crowd Responder directly addresses the following concerns:

  • Improving networks supporting pandemic responses,
  • Protecting supply chains and retail networks,
  • Supporting government programs,
  • Matching unmet needs with unused resources,
  • Self-sustaining  activities (despite the presence of conflict, etc),
  • Improving responses to climate change,
  • Accelerating education and communication,
  • Facilitating long-term development.

Typical projects include:

  • Finland - new technology for disaster responses,
  • India - sustainable solutions to flooding,
  • Netherlands - improved community resilience,
  • Philippines - new opportunities in community finance,
  • Portugal - low risk development of rural regions,
  • Uganda - rapid response (refugee rescue and community development),
  • United Kingdom - new solutions in child welfare.
